About
OUR STORY
Symphony Landscape created by designer Cherie Boland in 2018 is a local consulting and garden design service.
Cherie made the rural life change to Mudgee in 1999 when she married a local man and has since raised 4 beautiful girls. Her passion for horticulture and garden design began on her local estate while raising a family. The 6-acre Mudgee garden ‘Tinja Park’ has been transformed from scarcity to utopia and is now a wedding venue open for ceremonies. It has also been featured in the local open garden scheme, seeing more than 1000 people visit over two days.
While the garden began as nothing but a vacant lot of dirt, it now boasts an extensive variety of plants and trees all suited to the local climate. With intricate natural rooms to wander through, each with distinct focal points it has become a small haven in the midst of the growing Mudgee township. This experience has given her a depth of understanding regarding local soil and climatic conditions, enabling her to form outdoor spaces utilising plant-life sympathetic with the local landscape.
This insight into what she loves encouraged her, instilling confidence to reach and extend her knowledge to garden design.
Having completed with distinction her Diploma in landscape Design through the Academy of Landscape Design, Cherie’s design pathway began.
Mudgee’s ever- growing population, with many looking for a quiet change of lifestyle, making the move to the picturesque region, Cherie’s design skills are kept busy. She sees immense opportunity and potential for gardens in the region and is passionate in encouraging people to connect with their own personal outdoor spaces through well designed gardens.
